We are delighted to have many top riders as great believers and avid followers of Derriere Equestrian Products. Our sponsored riders feature across the board in: Dressage, Eventing, Endurance and Show Jumping.
To receive such an outstanding endorsement from Carl Hester MBE was an amazing moment for Derriere. Carl loves our products, rides in them every day and wishes we had brought them to him years ago!
We are inundated with riders requesting sponsorship every day as a result we have put in place our “Stars of the future” sponsorship scheme. Our Model of the year competition 2014/15 brought us many riders, debuting as equestrian models. We have had a great year following our Model Riders and have captured some amazing images too. This year’s Mongol Derby saw DE sponsor 5 riders from across the globe through the toughest horse race in the world and they all reported that they could not have done it without their Derrieres!

Carl lived on the Isle of Sark from the age of four. He learnt to ride at an early age as the island has no cars and relies on horses as a means of getting around.
At 16, Carl moved to the mainland where he was offered a job at the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy in Dorset. Although he started out competing in eventing, he moved to dressage and became Young Rider National Dressage Champion in 1985 and was selected for the Young Rider team in 1988.
Carl was approached to work for renowned dressage trainer Dr Bechtolsheimer in 1989, where he stayed for three years. Carl then set up a yard with Kate Carter, which they ran together for 10 years. In 2004, Carl went solo and runs his own competition yard in Gloucestershire. Carl has achieved great success in dressage and is one of the most successful British riders in the sport’s history.
Carl was awarded an MBE in the 2012 New Year Honours List.

Coral Keen is a 27 year old event rider based near Devises in Wiltshire who has a passion for horses and sport. Her defini-tion of success is to know that she has done the very best for the horses she rides in eventing at whatever level they are and for the long term.
Coral’s family is entrenched in horses, and it was her grandmother who first put her on a pony before she could walk. Her great aunt is Marion Mould who famously rode the pony Stroller to so many showjumping victories.
Coral began affiliated eventing aged 15 and when she was 17 decided to make eventing her career, giving up her training to be-come a nurse. Since then she has notched up consistently good results.
Her team of horses include Wellshead Fare Opposition (Derby) who is on the Equine Pathway, Total Belief (April), Cascadelle (Lola), Highmead Proposition (Jake), Aph-rodisiac (Pluto) and a handful of very excit-ing homebred youngsters.
She writes about her life as a professional event rider every fortnight for Horse and Hound Online.
Coral is sponsored by Total Equine Con-struction.
Jesse Campbell is 25 years old and also based in Wiltshire.
He is a New Zealand High Performance Squad Rider and is a Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials first timer this year.
In 2010 Jesse was invited by Andrew Nicholson to ride for him. He stayed there for 18 months before setting up his own yard in 2012.
In 2013 Jesse represented New Zealand with his NZ thoroughbred ‘Kaapachino’ at the Eventing Nations Cup Championship where their top ten result was one of the New Zealand team’s highest scores. Kaapachino placed 4th at Blair castle CCI3Star and has his 4Star debut in 2015 at Badminton.
Jesse has won 17 major New Zealand and International Eventing titles and sport awards.
Jesse has a Badminton blog which is shared across its social media platforms and also online (www.badminton-horse.co.uk/index.php/meet-jesse-campbell-debuting-at-badminton-2015 )
Preparations in place for Rio selection for Team New Zealand
Known as ‘The longest and toughest horse race on the planet’ and featured in The Telegraph, Cosmopolitan, The Daily Mail and National Geographic, the Mongol Derby is a gruelling trek covering 620 miles through Mongolia, following the historical route of Genghis Khan. Only approximately 40 people take part in the race each year, and they are often hours away from the nearest medical help. The riders sleep under the stars and are limited by what they may carry.
The horses are semi-wild Mongolian horses. Horse welfare is, of course, paramount and the riders change to fresh horses every 25km.
Derriere Equestrian is proud to be sponsoring several British riders of the Mongol Derby.
Sarah has riding in her blood, and has worked in the equestrian decade. Daniel may not have riding in his blood, but he certainly has adven-ture, being part of the first team to climb a pre-viously unclimbed mountain deep in the Vene-zuelan jungle. Daniel and Sarah are raising money for Cool Earth and Azafady, charities that share a common goal of protecting endan-gered environments through sustainable in-come streams.
Sophie is a 30-something Anglo-Belgian veter-inary surgeon specialising in horses, and Sian is a 30-something English paramedic who now works in Hospital Emergency Planning. Both have previously worked as crew members in the Mongol Derby so are fully aware of the implications of the race, and are self-proclaimed ‘bonkers’. They are fundraising for Agronomes et Vétérinaires Sans Frontieres, a French charity helping livestock farmers inter-nationally group together to combat animal diseases, and for Frenchay After Burns Chil-dren’s Club, an independent charity supporting the rehabilitation of young burns survivors across the South West of England.
“I started taking lessons in dressage and showjumping at the age of nine and learned to ride Icelandic horses when studying to be horsetamer, riding instruc-tor and farrier at Holar University in Ice-land. With my husband I now run an Ice-landic horse farm in Norway. Mostly work-ing with young horses, competing has not been a priority for me… until I signed up for the Mongol Derby.
That's when the search for the very best riding underwear started. I found Derriere through recommendation from other Mongol Derby riders. I have now tested the underwear on a 4 day trail ride. I am very pleased with the padded pants, they make a big difference when spending long days in the saddle. I am so happy I found Derri-ere and I am definitely going to wear the padded pants during the forthcoming Mongol Derby."
